What is an LGE
An LGE (Liquidity Generation Event) is how a new token and its DAO are created together on OhShii. Contributors send ICP to a campaign; in exchange they receive that campaign’s governance token, and when the LGE completes the campaign becomes a self-governing DAO that the contributors — not the creator — control.
An LGE is not a storefront. It is the funding and distribution step that brings a DAO into existence: the ICP contributed becomes the token’s trading liquidity, and the tokens distributed become the DAO’s voting power.
What actually happens when you contribute
Section titled “What actually happens when you contribute”You contribute ICP to a campaign and receive that campaign’s token in return. Three things follow automatically, with no action from the creator:
- The token’s liquidity is funded. About 90% of everything the campaign raises is used to open the token’s trading pool on ICPSwap. The remaining ~10% covers pool creation, fees, and referral rewards.
- You receive governance tokens, released over time. Your tokens are not handed over in one lump — they arrive through vesting (see below).
- Your vesting locks become voting power. Once activated, those locks give you Voting Power in that campaign’s DAO, so contributing is what makes you a voter in it.
The target and the curve
Section titled “The target and the curve”The creator chooses how much the LGE raises — any multiple of 500 ICP, from 500 up to 5000 ICP (500, 1000, 1500, … 5000). You can see the chosen target on the campaign page before contributing.
Every LGE has a fixed total supply of 1 billion tokens, split the same way at every target:
| Share | Amount | Goes to |
|---|---|---|
| 70% | 700M | Distributed during the LGE |
| 20% | 200M | Seeds the ICPSwap trading pool |
| 10% | 100M | Held in the campaign DAO’s own treasury |
Distribution follows a buy-only curve: the price per token rises steadily as more of the 700M is distributed, and the curve cannot be sold back into while the LGE is running — the trading pool does not exist yet. At the 500-ICP target the price moves from 0.00000010 to 0.00000133 ICP per token across the sale; a higher target scales those prices proportionally (10× at the 5000 maximum) while the curve keeps the exact same shape and always distributes the same 700M tokens.
Receiving your tokens: vesting is always on
Section titled “Receiving your tokens: vesting is always on”Every LGE on OhShii uses vesting — it cannot be switched off, and it applies to the creator and contributors alike. The creator only picks the schedule (weekly or monthly, up to ~2 years), and that schedule is visible on the campaign page before you contribute.
Your first unlock comes one full period after you activate — nothing is released at the moment of activation.
Why the DAO is genuinely the contributors’
Section titled “Why the DAO is genuinely the contributors’”When the LGE completes, the creator is not a controller of the token or of the campaign’s governance canister. The ledger, index, governance canister and trading pool are all created as part of the process, and from that point the campaign is governed by whoever holds voting power in it.
Voting power comes from your activated vesting locks, and it is quadratic — it grows with the square root of what you hold rather than in a straight line, and it is capped at 36,000 VP for everyone. A larger holder therefore does not get proportionally larger control.
If the LGE does not complete
Section titled “If the LGE does not complete”If a campaign does not reach its target, nothing is kept:
- Contributors can reclaim about 95% of the ICP they contributed.
- The creator gets back about 70% of what they contributed to their own campaign.
Refunds are claimed with the “GET REFUND” button and must be claimed within 7 days of the campaign failing.
